Amazon Author Interview
Dr David Williams
Reality is NOT a Four-Letter Word
Congratulations, David!
Your book is now available on the Amazon bookstore. How did it feel to see it there for the first time?
Happy that after all my hard work it’s finally in print.
Can you tell us a little about your book and why you wanted to write it?
It’s about helping others to discover, manage, and live with reality. Having done a great deal of research into the subject of reality and self-help I found many approaches overly complicated and obscure. I devised a simple system for people to find reality in their lives and wanted to share it in the most effective way.
Have you always been a writer / wanted to become an author?
Over a fifteen-year period I re-wrote brochures for patient management systems within the NHS and private healthcare sector. I have wanted to write a book for many years but a busy working and family life meant it had to wait until retirement.
What made you take that leap and self-publish your book?
It is the most direct route if you want to see your book in print.
Do you have any more book plans in the pipeline?
Yes, I am now writing a crime/mystery novel set in 1980s Spain
What advice would you offer other aspiring authors who are thinking of self-publishing?
Don’t rely solely on AI editing programs. It’s worth paying a professional to produce the final version, especially for your first book.
Thanks so much, David!
All the best with your fantastic book!
The blurb…
Reality, like beauty, is often in the beholder’s eye. But with so many differing versions of reality, how do you know which is real? The further you are from reality, the more difficult your life is to manage.
This book contains a simple but comprehensive system for discovering, managing, and living with reality. Through the author’s experiences and real-life stories, he explains how things go wrong when you fail to see reality, making the case for embracing and living with it (rather than viewing it as a negative).
Dr Williams has spent a lifetime working in healthcare; firstly as a psychiatric nurse and latterly as a podiatrist, treating many thousands of patients over a thirty-year period. Over the years, he has studied many self-help systems and maintained a keen interest in clinical psychology. Although inspirational and helpful to many, he finds conventional self-help systems too convoluted and difficult to use on a daily basis.
Cue his own straightforward, fast and adaptable system: The Forward View Reality System, which can be used instantly because it is based on an everyday activity, using a brain training technique to separate your future thoughts from your past.
Your only true reality is the present.
Reality is NOT a Four-Letter Word is about freedom to see the real picture, unfettered by personal ego and the weight of your past. Jargon-free and simple to implement, it urges you to look straight ahead and see reality, leaving the past behind and embracing the future.
