Amazon Author Interview
with JP Holzer, author of ‘The Pervert in the Hills’
Congratulations on the publication of your book! How does it feel to see your book on the Amazon bookstore?
Great! To have a book available on Kindle and in paperback across the planet is surreal.
Can you tell us a little bit about your book and why you decided to write it?
An Englishman in Ireland brutally and savagely murdered Sophie Toscan du Plantier. Two documentaries were made about this murder. [Murder in West Cork / Netflix and Murder at the Cottage / Sky Crime].
I met him by accident in Ireland in 2018, not knowing what he had done, and found him obnoxious. When I discovered his identity I was hooked. I created a blog about the case. I also decided to challenge his misogyny, paedophilic tendencies and bullying on social media. He was a malignant narcissist so I undermined him and ridiculed him. He hated me, sought to find me and even threatened me with my demise.
An hour before he died with a heart attack I had sent him an email explaining how this book would expose his lifetime sexual interest in children.
Have you always been a writer / wanted to become an author?
Yes. Since my retirement, I have started learning how to write and have completed two other works that I will seek to publish. A further work of non-fiction crime and a crime novel are well along the way to being finished.
What made you take that leap and publish your book?
A natural next step – speeded along because Ian Bailey died in January 2024.
What advice would you offer other aspiring authors who are thinking of self-publishing?
Do it. Get good professional advice along the way. When you are ready find someone like Michelle. Better still find Michelle! It is a false economy not to.
Thanks so much, JP Holzer!
And congratulations again on your fantastic book.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The Pervert in the Hills
If you read just one book about the way a murdering, malignant, narcissistic psychopath can be humbled by jokes about his teeth, moobs, bed-wetting and bin-dipping, make sure it is this one.
Ian Bailey was convicted for the brutal murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in May 2019. He walked free because of an obscure legal technicality and a perplexing decision by the Irish Director of Public Prosecutions. While free he threatened and bullied many women and had a long-term sexual interest in underage girls.
In 2021, he took to social media to feed his narcissistic appetite. There he found new ways to push self-aggrandising lies, promote lamentable business schemes, continue to show his interest in young teenagers, and threaten women in a vile manner.
The author of this book, J P Holzer, decided to use social media to challenge Ian Bailey by uncovering new information about his guilt. He also used it to expose Bailey’s perversions and misogyny. Holzer used social media to mock, irritate, and undermine the self-loving murderer. This included the excoriating dismantling of Bailey’s doomed autobiographical podcast: ‘In my own words’. The podcast was to be Bailey’s legacy project ‘proving his innocence’. It turned out to be an abject failure.
Ian Bailey died just over an hour after receiving an email from J P Holzer. Was the fatal heart attack due to his refusal to quit drinking, smoking, and his unwillingness to exercise, OR did learning from the email that this book would expose his paedophilic tendencies play its part?
