Amazon Author Interview with Caroline Mary, author of

Who Called You Crazy? You’re Having a Spiritual Awakening

 *

Congratulations on the publication of your book, Caroline!

How does it feel to see it on the Amazon bookstore?

Relief, yet excitement for the next step in the journey. Now my part is over, I can share the book with those who can benefit from it, and that’s the most exciting part for me.

Can you tell us about your book and why you decided to write it?

I wrote this book in response to my experience of being sectioned in my late twenties when I was undergoing a profound spiritual awakening. For me it was an exciting and profound time, yet for those around me, it was worrying and caused a great deal of stress.

I wanted to share my understandings in a way I couldn’t voice all of those years ago, and I wanted to share them, not only for those around me who couldn’t seem to grasp that at the time, but for those who are undergoing similar experiences. I want them to know they’re not alone and they’re not going mad! They’re having a spiritual awakening!

I walk people through the journey I went on and the things I wished people around me could see… the change in narrative, the things that can lead to our altered states, why it’s happening more and more, what can happen during our awakenings, and why it’s so important to take time to integrate it, rather than try to ignore it or push it away.

Have you always been a writer/wanted to become an author?

I have been in 4 collaborative books to date, and they have helped me gain confidence in my writing skills, yet I wrote the first iteration of this book 8 years ago, and was terrified of the next steps, and backed out of publishing it about 5 years ago.

When I was in uni studying philosophy and maths, I vaguely remember thinking “My head is like the inside of a philosophy book, and maybe I could share something useful one day?”. But as soon as I’d thought it, I dismissed it. It felt like an insane idea, and something that only “other people” would do!

What I did want to do was make the world a better place, from as young as I can remember, I just didn’t know it would include sharing books!

*

What made you take that leap and publish your book?

It was time! I wrote the book when I’d never seen anyone else writing about this topic and over the years, I’ve watched the world changing and realised it would probably be received by some people in a way I hoped for. The book was weighing on my mind since I wrote the first draft, and it got to the time to birth it!

Do you have any more books in the pipeline?

Yes, I found my next book, “Energy 101 part 1” (working title) last week and realised it’s nearly finished, so I’ll be working towards that in the next month or two along with online video courses as a follow up to the first book.

What advice would you offer other aspiring authors who are thinking of self-publishing?

Do it! Just get the ideas down on paper and take the time to plan your chapters. Before you know it, you’ll have your book written and be ready for the next one!

It’s a journey of two halves: our healing comes from the writing, and other people can heal from reading our words. It’s a win-win experience for everyone involved, so thank you for supporting this process Michelle, I really appreciate your time, skills and patience.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on your book and your self-publishing experience, Caroline.

And congratulations again on your fantastic book.

I know how much it means to you to share your message with the world and I’m sure that those who need it will find it just at the right time.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Who Called You Crazy?

Who Called You Crazy? You’re Having a Spiritual Awakening! tells a personal journey, yet invites readers undergoing their own spiritual awakening to journey within and find meaning in their transformational experiences as Caroline Mary has.

The invitation is to reconsider the current mental health narrative and look to the deeper energetic and spiritual shifts we go through as we connect to our soul and our true, infinite self.

The chapters invite you to explore new narratives, understand contributing factors of spiritual awakening, consider why we awaken when we do, and what might happen during your awakening.

From here, the invitation is to take responsibility for your integration, claim your birthright and contribute to the world in a way that’s perfect for you, and helps co-create a better world.

This book is a first step on one’s journey and an invitation to ponder the unfolding mystery of life, with a fresh look at altered states, trauma and our unique soul path.

With personal invitations for journaling and prayers for each stage of your journey, this book holds you through your integration journey.

Who Called You Crazy? invites a fresh look at the altered states that are often diagnosed as mental illness, so we can reframe challenging situations, and see them as part of the messiness of unfurling and healing in the expansive times we’re living in.
