Indie Author Interview – Tayo Hassan – Author of Heart of Fire: A Pathway to Freedom

My latest author, Tayo Hassan, made her debut last week with her fantastic memoir. I caught up with her to find out what she thought about self-publishing and why she felt compelled to write her memoir.

Congratulations, Tayo! Your book is now available on the Amazon bookstore. How did you feel when you saw it for the first time?

It felt totally surreal, but also a real sense of achievement on seeing the end result after the rollercoaster journey from the point of conception through to its fruition.

Can you briefly tell us about your book and why you felt compelled to write it?

This book is an inspirational spiritual memoir, and I knew from my life experience I could perhaps help others on their journey in the challenging world that we live in from a personal and professional perspective.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes, I have always dreamt of becoming an author from a young girl as I have loved books ever since I can remember.

What made you take that leap and publish your book?

I decided to make it a reality when I could no longer live with just the thought of it swirling round in my mind. I made a commitment to myself by taking that leap of faith to see it through.

Have you any more book plans in the pipeline?

Not just yet but the idea is there. I would like to fully absorb this book first, take a breath and then think about what comes next.

What advice would you offer other aspiring authors who want to self-publish their books?

Believe in yourself, because at least you can say, I tried, rather than looking back with regret that you did not.

Thanks very much, Tayo! Very best of luck with your book!
