Amazon Author Interview
Graham Roy Swift
The Syrena Chronicles
Congratulations, Graham!
Your book is now available on the Amazon bookstore. How did it feel to see it there for the first time?
Relieved now that the hard work is over. Progressing from the opening line to the finished article is a lengthy process.
Can you tell us a little about your book and why you wanted to write it?
After writing a book about the charter boat, Syrena, its crew, and their adventures amid the picturesque Caribbean islands, I chose to compose a sequel.

Have you always been a writer / wanted to become an author?
No. I started writing, mainly in the evenings. My full-time work required me to have many nights away from home.
What made you take that leap and self-publish your book?
I had tried a major publishing house with my first novel. So, decided to try self-publishing with my second novel.
Do you have any more book plans in the pipeline?
Yes, I am several chapters into a new novel. It’s a mixture of romance and hidden secrets.
What advice would you offer other aspiring authors who are thinking of self-publishing?
Proceed with the task. When you first start, it seems a massive undertaking. But maintain your perseverance. And when you are ready to go down the publishing road, you will find no one better than Michelle to help you!
Thanks so much, Graham!
All the very best with your fantastic book! You know how much I love this series. It would be amazing to read more adventures onboard (and off!) the Syrena. No pressure.
The blurb…
The Syrena Chronicles: The sea can be unforgiving
Aboard the luxury charter vessel Syrena, Chris and Jane Leyton have built a life that drifts between sunlit coastlines and the quiet satisfaction of running a family‑centred business. Alongside their closest friends, Liam and Nancy O’Shaughnessy, they offer bespoke voyages to guests seeking privacy, beauty, and escape amongst the beautiful islands of the Caribbean. The four have lived by the tides, their world defined by trust, routine, and the steady rhythm of the sea.
But when members of the US intelligence service discreetly approach them with an unusual request, the Leytons and O’Shaughnessys find themselves drawn into waters far darker than any they have navigated before.
What begins as a seemingly harmless favour, a little observation here, a discreet transport there, soon reveals itself to be part of a covert campaign against a rising terrorist organisation whose reach extends far beyond the horizon.
As the Syrena becomes an unofficial asset in a conflict they barely understand, the crew’s once-simple charters transform into dangerous operations where every passenger may be more than they appear, every coastline may conceal a threat, and every decision carries consequences that ripple through their lives.
The four friends must confront not only the dangers of the missions themselves but the strain placed on their marriages, loyalties, and moral boundaries.
The sea, once their refuge, becomes a shifting battleground where trust is fragile and safety is never guaranteed.
